Kim Davis Actively Promotes Professionalism at both the County and State Levels

Momkus McCluskey Partner, Kimberly Davis, was recently appointed to the DuPage County Bar Association's Professionalism Committee. This Committee is comprised of judges and lawyers dedicated to professionalism in the legal community. Kimberly and her fellow Committee members recently appeared in an article of the DCBA Brief dedicated to professionalism. She is an author and signor of the DCBA's Code of Professionalism, which enumerates aspirations of professionalism among laypersons, lawyers and the judiciary of the 18th Judicial Circuit.

In April of 2008, Kimberly moderated an impressive panel of presenters at the 2008 Allerton Conference held by the Illinois State Bar Association's Civil Practice and Procedure Section Council. The topic of the panel was "How to Handle Substantial Acts of Unprofessionalism and the Habitual Offender." Among the prestigious panel members led by Kim were Illinois Supreme Court Justice Lloyd Karmeier, Chief Judge of the 18th Judicial Circuit Ann Jorgensen, and veteran attorneys Warren Lupel and Dave Rolewick. The Section Counsel is comprised of approximately 30 judges and civil practitioners from throughout Illinois, and represents approximately 9,000 members of the Section. Over 125 attorneys and Judges attended the Conference.

In May of 2008, Kimberly was inducted as an Academy of Bar Leaders Fellow by the DuPage County Bar Association and North Central College's Leadership, Ethics and Values Program. Kim's class was the first inaugural group of Fellows that attended several educational seminars and sessions dedicated to alternative dispute resolution, legal ethics, professional growth, and dedication to the legal profession.
