Practice Area Overview  Kimberly A. Davis is a partner with the firm, concentrating in insurance defense litigation, large loss subrogation, special investigations, professional liability, commercial litigation and general civil litigation.  She is a manager of the firm’s insurance practice group and practices before all state courts in Illinois.

Education and Background   Kim received an Associate of Arts degree in Commerce from Morton College in 1985 and a Bachelor of Science degree in Paralegal Studies (major) and Political Science (minor) from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale in 1987.  Kim received her Juris Doctor with honors in 1997 from Chicago-Kent College of Law Illinois Institute of Technology.  She was awarded scholarships and academic awards in law school and is proud to be a recipient of the Michael J. Angarola Scholarship for Excellence in Trial Advocacy.

Work Experience   Ms. Davis began her legal career immediately after graduating from college at Fisher and Fisher, a Chicago law firm.  Kim remained with the firm for nearly eleven years and continued working full-time with the firm as its Office Manager while attending law school in the evenings.

Prior to joining Momkus McCluskey in August 1999, Kim concentrated in prosecuting subrogation cases with Knight, Hoppe, Fanning & Knight in Des Plaines, Illinois.  She managed a volume caseload of 450 claims and successfully resolved and prosecuted numerous civil cases sounding in general negligence, premises liability and product liability through arbitration, mediation, bench trial and jury trial.  Since joining Momkus McCluskey, Kim has expanded her practice areas to insurance defense, special investigations, nursing home negligence, commercial litigation, and general civil litigation.

Kim is an active member of the Illinois State Bar Association, where she serves as Chair of the ISBA’s largest committee of over 3,400 members known as the Civil Practice Section Council (2012-present, member 2006-present).  She is also a member of the Bench and Bar Section Council (2009-present).  Kim served as an elected member of the ISBA Assembly for DuPage County from 2007-2009.

Kim is a member of the DuPage County Bar Association, and is an elected member of the Board of Directors (2012 – present).  She also serves as the Chair of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee and has served as Chair of the Civil Practice Committee (2011-2012), Chair of Membership (2008-2009), and Chair of the Ad Hoc Committee on Diversity (2008-2009).  Kim received the DCBA’s Board of Directors Award for Outstanding Service in 2009.  She served as a member of the Professionalism Committee (2007-2008) and is a co-author of the Professionalism Pledge in DuPage County.  Kim has been consistently rated as “highly recommended” by the DCBA’s Judiciary Committee.

Additionally, Kim is a member of the Illinois Association of Defense Trial Counsel, DuPage Association of Women Lawyers (Member 2001-present, President 2005-2006), and the American Inns of Court-DuPage County Chapter (Member 2005-2010, President 2008-2009).

In 2008, Kim was inducted as an Academy of Bar Leaders Fellow by the DuPage County Bar Association and North Central College’s Leadership, Ethics and Values Program.

Personal   Kim is a native of Cicero, Illinois and currently resides with her family in Winfield.  Kim enjoys spending her free time with her family and friends, and actively participates in her church, local school, and park district, and serves as a co-leader of her daughter’s Brownie Girl Scout troop.
