Jefferson Perkins concentrates his practice in intellectual property. He had accumulated almost three decades of experience as an associate and then partner in large general civil practice law firms before joining Momkus McCluskey in 2006. Mr. Perkins prepares and prosecutes patent applications in the electrical, mechanical and certain chemical arts, both before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and internationally. He has obtained patent protection for inventions in areas such as semiconductors, composites, telecommunications, silicone polymers, mechanical devices, optics, computer hardware and software, and business methods. He asserts, defends, licenses and litigates patents and conducts patent reexamination, reissue and review proceedings before the USPTO. His practice further includes all aspects of trademark registration, assertion, licensing and defense, both before the USPTO and abroad; trademark opposition and cancellation proceedings; trade names, domain names and unfair competition; computer software licensing and development agreements; and the protection, assertion and defense of copyrights, trade secrets and confidential information. Mr. Perkins is a registered patent attorney and is a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association, the Federalist Society and the DuPage County Bar Association.
