Practice Area Overview James K. Theisen is an associate with the firm, concentrating in insurance defense litigation, subrogation and plaintiff’s personal injury. Mr. Theisen is licensed to practice before state and federal courts in Illinois and is also licensed to practice in Missouri.
Education and Background Mr. Theisen received a Bachelor of Science degree in Law Enforcement Administration from Western Illinois University in 1994. He received his Juris Doctor degree in 2002 from Southern Illinois University School of Law. While attending law school, Mr. Theisen received several class awards and scholarships, including the Phi Delta Phi Award for outstanding achievement in Legal Ethics, the Academic Achievement Scholarship, and was also nominated by SIU School of Law for the DuPage County Bar Association Award. Mr. Theisen also served as a Student Ambassador for SIU School of Law and attended the William & Mary School of Law 2001 summer program in Madrid, Spain.
Work Experience Mr. Theisen began his legal career as a law clerk for the Womick Law Firm, Chtd., working full time while attending law school. Upon graduation, Mr. Theisen accepted a position as an associate with the Womick Law Firm and concentrated primarily in medical malpractice. Mr. Theisen worked as an associate for a Chicago Loop plaintiff’s personal injury firm before joining Momkus McCluskey in October 2004.
Mr. Theisen is a member of the American Bar Association and the Illinois State Bar Association.
Personal Mr. Theisen is a native of West Chicago and currently lives in Oregon, Illinois with his wife, Angela, and their three beautiful daughters and one son.
